Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Local Government, Ben Kumumanya, has directed all Local Government Engineers to properly document and account for infrastructure works within their jurisdictions.
Speaking during a meeting of District, City and Municipal Engineers held at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala, Mr. Kumumanya emphasized the need for a comprehensive and up-to-date inventory of all roads, clearly indicating the parishes served aligned to the Parish Development Model (PDM) as well as the respective subcounties.

He further encouraged Engineers to work closely with District and City Resident Commissioners to reinforce transparency and accountability in the execution of public works.
Mr. Kumumanya also urged officers serving in acting capacities to take advantage of the 22 newly advertised Local Government Engineer positions across various Local Governments, noting that filling these roles is essential for strengthening technical capacity at the subnational level.
