Tourism and Coffee Showcase at the Great Wall

As part of the Independence celebrations, the Embassy organized a Tourism and Coffee Promotion Event at the Badaling Great Wall, one of China’s most iconic landmarks. Under the theme “Discover Uganda – The Pearl of Africa,” the showcase offered a sensory and cultural journey through Uganda’s landscapes, traditions, and flavors.

Visitors experienced a premium Ugandan coffee tasting session, featuring world-class Arabica beans grown on the slopes of Mount Elgon and in the Rwenzori highlands. The event also included an exhibition of Ugandan-made products and tourism materials, inviting Chinese and international guests to explore Uganda’s diverse investment and travel opportunities.

The highlight of the day was a traditional dance performance by a Ugandan cultural troupe, whose rhythmic drumming, graceful movements, and colorful costumes mesmerized the audience and brought the spirit of Uganda to life at the Great Wall.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties

The event underscored Uganda’s growing strategic partnership with China, a relationship anchored in mutual respect, South–South cooperation, and shared prosperity. China remains one of Uganda’s key development and trade partners, with collaborations spanning infrastructure, technology, education, and agriculture.
